The South Wolverhamtpon & Bilston Academy

During October half term 44 OSWB Academy Students and 6 staff members travelled via coach all the way through the night to reach Lloret de Mar, Barcelona the following morning.
The purpose of the trip was to train and play competitive football matches against Spanish opposition and to widen our understanding of the Spanish football culture! The students and staff took time to wander around Lloret and see what the coastal town had to offer along with some shopping time later on in the week.

During the trip students visited the city of Barcelona, where they were fortunate enough to undertake a tour of the famous Camp Nou Stadium and Historical 1992 Olympic games museum before heading back to the hotel to prepare for the tough training and matches which were based all over the region of Catalonia. The four teams took part in 2 competitive games against Spanish opposition and all represented OSWBA fantastically, showing exemplary team work and endeavour.

The year 10 boys particularly deserve a special congratulations after they registered a 1-1 draw against Pals.

Awards at the end of the tour were given to Kayleigh Round as ‘Top goal’ scorer with 6 goals and Kian Wood got ‘Most valuable player’ for the Yr8 boys team.
If you want to be considered for next year’s tour – get training and involved in the clubs!
