The South Wolverhamtpon & Bilston Academy

House Information

The House system is an integral part of life at Ormiston SWB Academy, indeed our whole building is framed around House with each floor named after and colour coded according to a House. Houses contain a broad mix of students across Year 7 to Year 11. There are four Houses at Ormiston SWB Academy:

Sanderson House named after Olympic Gold Medallist, Tessa Sanderson
Weston House named after inspirational veteran of the Falkland’s War, Simon Weston
Brindley House named after famous engineer, James Brindley
Attwood House named after local motor-racing driver, Dickie Attwood
Sixth Form a separate House for Sixth Form students only

The Houses provide an opportunity for students to mix with other students of all ages, and staff they may not be familiar with in a spirit of community and competition. Student designation to a House is identified by the coloured stripe on their tie. House events, competitions and celebrations run throughout the year.
