Welcome to South Wolverhampton & Bilston Academy

SWB Academy opened in September 2009 and is rapidly achieving an outstanding reputation for the first-class education, care and opportunities we provide for our students. Our aim is to ensure that every student masters skills in literacy, numeracy and ICT and achieves their potential through studying a broad and balanced curriculum suited to their needs. We have high expectations of all our students in terms of their behaviour and attendance, and seek to provide them with a wealth of opportunities both in and out of the classroom.  Finally, we offer excellent care, guidance and support, encouraging our students to gain the skills they need to become effective citizens and have a successful and happy life.
We are a pioneering Academy whose dedicated team of specialist staff is focused on achieving the best possible outcomes for every child. We are fortunate to be supported by three educational sponsors: City of Wolverhampton College, University of Wolverhampton and Wolverhampton City Council, who work closely with us to ensure we approach the education and welfare of our students in an effective, creative and innovative way. Our vision, with the sponsors, is for SWB Academy to become a Centre of Excellence in Teaching and Learning ensuring every student makes the academic and personal progress to enable them to achieve their goals and become a valued and respected part of our community.

We were delighted to have the funding for our new facilities confirmed and plans are well underway for us to move to new state-of-the-art buildings in September 2012.  This purpose built site for 1,200 students will provide the specialist learning facilities and equipment needed for effective 21st century learning.

If you wish to find out what more we have to offer, we would be delighted to welcome you to visit us.
